PERLITE

Product Code

FT-021

It is a volcanic rock with water droplets. When exposed to high temperatures, the particles expand because the water in the mass tries not to evaporate then and porous expanded perlite granules at low density are obtained. Perlite, which has many physical properties as a result of the expansion process, is used for different purposes in different sectors such as agriculture, construction and industry. Perlite is important with its low density, physical flexibility, chemical stability, low sound permeability and fire resistance. It is successfully used as a soil conditioner in greenhouses, as an additive in seedling mortars and as a growing medium in soilless agriculture. Perlite is a very suitable environment for the germination of vegetable and flower seeds.

  • • It is light
    • It is inorganic and inert.
    • Sterile
    • It has high heat and fire insulation properties.
    • It does not contain seeds, parasites and harmful organisms.
    • It has high drainage ability.
    • It has high water retention capacity.
    • It has high ventilation capacity.
    • Perlite, with its total porosity over 90% and ventilation porosity of around 60%, provides aeration of the soil and regulates its drainage.
    • Perlite increases infiltration and decreases evaporation. Provides economy in irrigation.
    • It does not carry weed seeds and diseases due to its inorganic structure.
    • It does not cause any problems in terms of salinity and alkalinity, since it has almost no soluble ions.
    • With its neutral (pH = 6.5-7.5) and low chemical buffering, it easily regulates the pH of the environment.
    • Since its thermal conductivity is low, it minimizes the damage of the plant from daily temperature changes.
    • In soilless agriculture; It brings 6 years of use due to not deteriorate after sterilization.
    • Provides early reaping.
    • Prevents damage and loss in seedling roots.
Available from the market in sizes 0-2mm, 0-3mm and 0-4mm.
  • Roof and floor insulation
    Perlite plasters
It is used as a loose filling material (in the form of foam after special treatment with silicone; as insulation material in attics, floor and wall spaces).
Provides necessary soil conditions by increasing the physical properties of the soil.
Helping to increase the compactness in the soil, reducing water drainage and maintaining moisture.
Creates a breeding ground for seedlings.

It is used in garden agriculture and greenhouse cultivation for reasons such as aerating the soil.
